There are infinite ways to learn, and my goal as a tutor is to help build self-confidence and reinforce the curriculum while having as much fun as possible along the way! My specialties are in Psychology, Astronomy, and Public Speaking.
My formal education is from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, I received a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Leadership and Management (2018) with three years of experience as a lab assistant in an Industrial-Organizational Psychology lab where I focused primarily on leadership characteristics and their correlation with personality traits, especially the OCEAN Model.
I have been an Amateur Astronomer for the past 15 years volunteering in the Von Braun Astronomical Society of which I am currently the Past-President. To show and explain the beauty of the Universe around us is one of my favorite activities in the whole world!
For the 3 years I worked as an Astronomy and General Presenter for Space Camp at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The groups ranged anywhere from age 8 to 80+ and between 12 and 300 people at a time. My experience teaching at Space Camp was fantastic! I learned how to hold attention quick, be flexible, make it enjoyable, and still keep it educational! I currently teach both kids and adults how to create Laser Shows (I.e. Pink Floyd, Daft Punk shows) and work as an ambassador expert for the local hobby store Gigaparts for STEM toys and Astronomy.
