Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Pomona College where I got a BA in Environmental Studies, focusing on Ecology and the Built Environment. The daughter of two teachers (I use she/her pronouns!), I have been learning about the value and impact of education my entire life. I tutored and peer mentored in English, History and Math throughout all of high school, including my senior year which was spent living in Lima, Peru. While in college, I worked for Americorps' Jumpstart program for about two and a half years, offering supportoriginally in person then onlineto pre-K students. On top of that, I spent time outside of my own studies volunteering in local elementary and high schools around Claremont, CA; working to create hands-on STEM activities in San Francisco, CA; and coaching clients across the country through their undergraduate applications.
I believe that every learning environment requires relationships built on trust, understanding, and exchange. I love to learn from my students, and I make a point to help them incorporate their interests outside the classroom into their education. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am the most excited to work in English and Writing or to help students get excited about basic STEM.
