I am passionate about helping students grow in their ability to apply their knowledge. Education has the power to change lives and bring us a deeper understanding of the world in which we live. The greatest part of learning is seeing the acquired knowledge achieve a real-life result. Likewise, the greatest joy of tutoring is seeing the student gain a mastery over the material and use their knowledge to better understand the world around them. I am currently working towards my Undergrad degree at Baylor University, where I major in music and Ancient Greek. I am especially passionate about music theory and singing. Through music theory, once we learn the inner workings of music, we discover an "aha" moment nestled in each work by a quality composer. Through singing, we discover how to use our bodies, overcome stage fright, and grow in self confidence. As a tutor, I prefer to use a variety of methods, lecture and review, drawings, and worksheets. I believe each of these methods reinforce each other. My goal is to help the student to a point where we can talk about the subject as fellow colleagues rather that tutor and tutee. Outside of academia, I enjoy being outside and being in the kitchen. Biking around local parks is one of my favorite ways to think. I also love baking bread and scones for afternoon tea-time.
