I am passionate about helping students because I know how important it is to have someone who can get on your individual level and meet you where you are. I worked in a public school system as a teacher for 7 years but I have also worked in daycare as well as with adults. I am now moving into a charter school to continue my career in education.
Therefore, I am able to adapt my teaching style to students of all ages and backgrounds.

I am a graduate of Western Carolina University (2005) with a BS in Criminal Justice and a BA in Spanish. I also received my teaching license via lateral entry from WCU (2019). I am a graduate of Liberty University (2016) with a MA in Human Services Counseling: Christian Ministry. Currently I am enrolled at Liberty University again pursuing an EdD in Curriculum & Instruction: Educational Psychology.

My current teaching license is through the State of North Carolina and I am licensed in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (Mild-Moderate). For 6 years, I held a license for continuing education as a general instructor and taught in-service training to my colleagues from the sheriff's office.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching math and Spanish. I have been a co-teacher in math for 6th grade for 3 years and I absolutely loved it. I worked with Spanish-speaking students on a daily basis and I enjoy sharing this skill with other students who are eager to learn.

Hobbies

I love to read, work with flowers/plants and make/listen to music. I like reading books of all kinds but my particular interest lies in cultures and thrillers/mysteries. My favorite flowers are roses and hibiscus but I've recently taken to experimenting with growing vegetables. I sing as well as play the guitar and I've written/adapted about 7 songs so far. I love music of all types.
