Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth. I received my Bachelor of Applied Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Science. Since graduation, I have taught 5th - 8th-grade science at a low-income Catholic school in Minneapolis, Minnesota; 5th and 6th-grade science, social studies, and religion at a Catholic school in Fort Worth, Texas; coached and competed in Robotics Clubs, prepped students and organized multiple science fairs, and been involved in environmental projects (like obtaining grants for and building Rain Gardens). I have since then transitioned into teaching high school Computer Science, Python, and Engineering. While I tutor a broad range of subjects at the elementary level, I am most passionate about Science and Python programming. In my experience helping struggling students, I take a hands-on approach that is tailored to the specific student's learning style. This gives students the specific skills they need to excel in any area of study they are working in. I am a firm proponent of instilling wonder and curiosity in my students because the skill of life-long learning is necessary for an improved quality of life. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, fossil hunting, plant photography, and being with my family.
