Certified Tutor

I am a graduate from Rutgers University with a BA in political science and history. I believe in life-long learning and in pursuit of that goal I plan to pursue a career in academia. The next step in my education is a masters in history. I tutor to develop the teaching side of an academic career and as an expression of my believe in the student empowered by critical thinking skills being a more capable person generally and a stronger member of society.

I tutor in history at all levels and in every major field, as well as social studies and writing. My tutoring philosophy is to impart in students the capacity to analyze a subject critically and enable them to develop and support theses in relation to the subject. I accomplish this by providing the student with note-taking and text-reading skills which allow them to focus on the pertinent information and then discuss conceptual frameworks through which the information can viewed.

My prior experience with education has been supporting fellow students at the college level. I've helped others come to grips with difficult concepts in the fields of history, political science and other social sciences. I've also supported them in developing theses for papers and applying appropriate style to their essay form.

Apart from my academic hobbies I am an avid reader, partake in some creative writing, play in and run tabletop games and engaging in online gaming as part of an established gaming organization.
