I have tutored on several different accounts, with a range of students. I typically tutor students in math, science, and music, since many students have difficulty understanding their real world applications. I work with the students in how to see the bigger picture of their textbook problems, which then help them remember the details. Knowing why and how these subjects relate to the real world makes them easier, and more fun to learn. I also rely on relating to my student; many times a student will find it comforting to know that their tutor has been tutored. This re-establishes trust, and is encouraging in the sense that everyone needs help at some point. I have been on both sides of the spectrum and have developed an efficient and fun way of teaching students because of that.
