Certified Tutor
I'm here to assist with any current or aspiring college students with making the grades for, getting into, and thriving at college.
My tutoring experience has spanned a wide variety of students over several years: from serving as a teaching aide for high school students with special needs, to working as a teaching assistant for elementary, middle, and high school students at a gifted academic summer camp, to working as a full-time in-school tutoring fellow at an urban middle school. This is in addition to more than a decade of informal experience assisting friends and family academically as I've balanced pursuing an Ivy League undergraduate degree.
Writing has been a lifelong strength of mine, and I've enjoyed taking on positions where I've helped others improve their writing. The most prominent example of this would be serving a year as a staff editor, then two more years as Editor in Chief of a widely distributed campus magazine in college. I've also assisted students with resume, college admissions, and academic essay writing.
Math, mainly Algebra (but spanning up to statistics and calculus II) has also always been a strong subject for me, and the majority of my professional tutoring experience comes from a full year, full-time fellowship teaching pre-algebra and algebra I.
My interest in assisting with college admissions stems from: 1) getting into an Ivy League school, 2) qualifying for scholarships (including full-ride) to universities through National Merit & National Achievement PSAT Scholarships, 3) serving as a summer teaching assistant in a College Admissions course for gifted high school students, and 4) volunteering by introducing low-income students to the college application process.
My schedule currently allows me to be flexible in terms of times and locations for tutoring sessions, both in-person and online. Reach out to me for details!
