Certified Tutor

I enjoy working with students on a one to one basis. As a classroom teacher there is little time for this, but I know that it is extremely valuable. We have a tutorial embedded in our school schedule and it's great in helping some student in understanding content and getting caught up with assignments. I work with the student and evaluate where they need support, draw from their personal prior knowledge, explain concepts in a variety of ways until it makes sense to them, and often include visuals, manipulatives and drawings, etc.

I completed the teacher Credentialing program at California State University, Bakersfield. I hold a credential in secondary life science in California and a Washington Residency Permit, Biology.
