Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. After graduation I became a teacher and coach for the St. Mary school system in Louisiana. I earned a master's degree in educational administration and supervision from Nicholls State University.
During my 33 years of teaching, I taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Business Math. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra since I spent the majority of my teaching career teaching it. I realize and understand that students can become easily frustrated while trying to learn Algebra. With that in mind, I do my best to explain a step-by-step process that can be used in problem solving. I have found that the old-school teaching method of having students write down and workout problems with guided practice from the teacher to be the most successful over the years. During tutoring sessions, I will be working problems on a whiteboard with the students to help ensure understanding. I have spent time after school and in my home tutoring students and just recently began tutoring online. As a teacher and now as a tutor, my greatest enjoyment was seeing my students achieve success in something that they thought they could not do. I look forward to working with you and getting to know you as we strive to meet your goals together.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, hunting, fishing, watching sports on television and spending time with my family.
