I currently live in South East Kansas with my husband and two cats while I am completing Grad School at Pittsburg State University. I adore learning and graduated undergrad with 3 majors! I'm very creative and I'm professionally trained in theater. I've taught theater after school and in summer camp for three years, teaching kids how to be silly and express themselves while also learning responsibility at the same time. I have lived and worked in France where I taught English for 6 months in 2019/2020. My interests are widespread and extensive! More than anything I have a passion for helping students learn how to learn and what styles/methods work best for them! I have worked with students from age 5 to students in their 60s, both in person and virtually to help grasp concepts and improve their understanding of the material! I come from a different background as many, as I was actually in the same spot many of my students are when I was their age. It often shocks my students to hear I was NOT the star pupil and in fact was held back in the third grade and continued struggling until I got to college. This background has allowed me to not only connect with my students on a different level, but also I have been able to share with them my methods of going about problems that are unusual, but effective! This has resulted in a huge increase of their confidence as well as aiding in their schoolwork! My educational background is in psychology and I have lots of experience helping kids with anxiety and learning disabilities to build confidence and understand concepts in a fun and supportive environment!
