Certified Tutor

I received my bachelor's degree in English Literature from California State University, Fullerton. I started teaching after graduation, during which time I earned my master's degree, also in English Literature. What I love about teaching is the opportunity to meet people of varied backgrounds. I've been lucky enough to teach in many different settings. I began my career by teaching adult ESL classes in Los Angeles. Later, I moved to Atlanta, where I taught ESL to adults and high school students as well as college-level writing and literary analysis. I love taking a subject that seems complicated -- such as grammar -- and breaking it down in a concise and interesting way. I also realize that everyone learns in different ways, and I enjoy tailoring lessons to fit students' individual learning styles. Interests/Hobbies: In my spare time, I can usually be found listening to podcasts or watching movies with my wife. I also like to cook and try new foods. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my two cats, who love to sleep on my lap and try to sneak bites of my food.
