I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee Martin. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am an educator of 11 years and I have spent a majority of my career in early childhood education. I started my teaching career in the correctional system and then took a position in the public schools. I taught 3rd grade for a year and then 1st grade for ten years. I am most passionate about math, as it is my favorite subject. But I love reading as well and teaching others to read! Not only have I taught in the public schools but I have also tutored students from my church as well as been a proponent in educational programs there. I am a firm believer in quality education! I believing it is necessary to help students become successful citizens in life and in pursuing their goals and dreams! In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and playing music! I enjoy playing piano and the organ - especially a pipe organ when I can find one!

Traveling- it is my dream to travel to the continental 48 United States! I have no desire to travel over water! I have been as far as the Oregon coast, to Cannon Beach, which was lovely! I enjoy the beach the most! Music- music is a passion just like teaching! I am the pianist and organist at my church, but have taught piano and played for special events per requests. Line Dancing - it's difficult to find somewhere to country dance anymore but I love line dancing and two stepping! I spent several years as a dance instructor! Reading- I am always interested in learning more so I love to read on many different topics to further my knowledge!
