Certified Tutor

I am currently a sophomore at Purdue University, and I am working towards a B.S. in Actuarial Science and Applied Statistics with a minor in Business Management, and I am also working towards a B.A. in Japanese at the same time. For high school, while I did attend a "traditional" high school for half of my school day, I also attended a very specialized Math and Science Center for half of my school day, where I learned far beyond the normal content in those subjects. Class sizes were very small, ranging from 18 to a max of 28. It was at that center where I discovered how capable I was, and I also began to help numerous other students learn concepts.

Therefore, my current focus in tutoring is mathematics up through and including Calculus. Additionally, I can help with English as well! I am incredibly skilled in working with grammar especially.

Mathematics is my favorite subject to tutor because of how continuous it is. It is often hard to realize and isn't taught this way, but everything in math is connected. In calculus class I realized that absolutely everything I had learned was coming together into one beautiful subject. I hope to help students realize that as well.

When I help tutor you, I don't just want to "give you the answer." I want to work with you to understand what you currently understand about a given topic. From there, we can work together to solve problems, I can give you tips and tricks, all while I help you build the confidence you need to do more problems on your own in the future!

In my free time, I work towards learning Japanese, playing the French Horn or learning the ukelele, listening to music (including, but not exclusive to Owl City, Lindsey Stirling, Hollyn, Lauren Daigle), spending time with my cats, reading mystery or adventure books, and playing the occasional video game or catching up with Netflix and Hulu.
