AP Comparative Government and Politics Tutoring FAQ
AP Comparative Government and Politics challenges students to not only master complex sociopolitical concepts in isolation, but also to study how these same concepts apply to governments in six selected countries, including China, Great Britain, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, and Russia. Due to the complexity of each nation's individual situation, comparisons are not likely to be clear-cut and obvious. Instead, they frequently require students to apply sophisticated critical-thinking skills in order to analyze the various causes and effects of both historic and current policy decisions in each country. Students are asked to derive meaning in a broad, international context, and simple memorization of facts and events is rarely sufficient. Even top students may struggle to accomplish this level of in-depth comprehension and analysis.
If you are having trouble making sense of your AP Comparative Government and Politics class, a private tutor can be a major asset to you. ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½ can help you connect with AP Comparative Government and Politics tutoring that provides you with a custom-tailored learning plan and a knowledgeable tutor to help address your particular academic concerns.

In addition to helping you master the material in your class, your highly skilled and experienced tutor can also help you prepare for your exam. The multiple choice section is designed to test your conceptual understanding of the six core countries and examine whether you are able to apply the material in the form of interpretation and comparison. The free response section consists of a country context category, a conceptual analysis category, and a short-answer concept category.
Your private tutor can help you prepare for this exam by providing you with both study tips and test-taking tips. Recent AP Comparative Government and Politics Tutoring Session Notes
Today I reviewed material with the student and checked for understanding. We did a variety of activities that helped her practice her learning. Additionally, I previewed the material that the student will be learning in the next few weeks. The student seemed to have a very good grasp on the material!
The student has been doing a lot of work over the break, so there wasn't anything urgent - we just studied for finals. I did look over her English project, she was working on to adapt the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which was looking really good so far. After that, we started studying for her World Cultures class. She needs help with geography, so we spent a lot of time studying the map of South Asia. We also filled out the vocab terms, in the South Asia section of her final review packet.
The student read section 1 of the Chapter on Greece aloud from her social studies book. We talked about each part and she took notes on the important parts.
Before the holidays we worked on a project for her Social Studies class, she got it back and was scored 95% on it! She is improving and understanding the materials more since we have been working together.
Today, I worked with the student to learn the keywords that he needs to know for his Social Studies midterm. We worked by reading the definitions out of the book and then having him repeat them from memory. I also utilized hand-drawn pictures as visual aids whenever possible in order to help him remember. At the end of the session, I gave him a quiz where he had to match words to their definitions, he did not do very well on this and will have to do more practice.
the student was also studying for an exam on Religion. I quizzed him at intervals on the definitions and terms that he needed to know. He did very well each time and better with each practice. The student appears well-prepared and ready for his exam and should perform well on it.
The student asked for help studying for his social studies test. I saw a paper he had called "How to Ace Your Test." I hadn't seen that before. On it, the teacher explained that the multiple choice come from the reading guide questions. The tip was to review the reading guide twice, once for the big picture and once for details. We spent the hour going over the first section of the review guide. I especially tried to help him know the difference between big idea and details and how knowing the big picture can help him with the details. For example, he doesn't have to remember every single change Thomas Jefferson made if he remembers the big picture of Jefferson's goals and ideals. He will know whether something fits the big picture or not. I feel like we made a lot of progress and he was definitely making connections.
I used the study guide given to me to prepare the student for his social studies test on Wednesday. We covered everything on the study guide numerous times and by the end of the session, he seemed to have a good grasp of the material. Finally, we used the remaining time to begin working on his response journal together.
