Certified Tutor

Ever since my middle school band director lost both her father and brother to cancer, science became my passion. I wanted to learn as much as I could about the human body and disease. This lead my to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mount Union in biochemistry, where I graduated in May 2018 with honors in biochemistry and will be pursing a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic.
Throughout my education I have taken many science courses, including but not limited to biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, metabolism, and physical chemistry. I have also received experience tutoring the introduction to biochemistry course during my undergraduate career. Here I learned that every student is different and that many different teaching styles and techniques are necessary to be successful. I also learned that patience and understanding are a must, because something you may be consider easy, is not always for others.
These experiences have pushed me to pursue a PhD in Molecular Medicine in order to find a career in medical research and to contribute to the growing body of knowledge about life and disease. I believe being a tutor can provide an amazing opportunity to grow as a student, teacher, and mentor.
